I found these three clear glass plates at a thrift store for 35 cents and decided to mod podge these decorative papers on the back of each. I was surprised how simple it really was. I love birds, and butterflies, can you tell I am anxious for Spring.Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01913765364507851133noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6625069860279456077.post-74999608406769685462014-02-03T07:24:00.000-08:002014-02-03T07:24:03.089-08:00card idea for any occassion<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I wasn't quiet finished with the picture block inside but you get the ideas.<br />
Below are instructions.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5c0Bee4RBgoFK4CLCEKtaYunPyyEJu5ktPJdz-CAALQJEyNfCgFlMu87Kr59Pp2Ixri4GvUM8_cNZHks6yjNzhQE9fUucSFhStmNU6ZU62ZVIFXQR-FQSV8dMiNLBRxEYt9xMiMUXMyCs/s1600/card+explotion+box+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5c0Bee4RBgoFK4CLCEKtaYunPyyEJu5ktPJdz-CAALQJEyNfCgFlMu87Kr59Pp2Ixri4GvUM8_cNZHks6yjNzhQE9fUucSFhStmNU6ZU62ZVIFXQR-FQSV8dMiNLBRxEYt9xMiMUXMyCs/s1600/card+explotion+box+002.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
EXPLOSION BOX</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You'll need: Three - 12 in. by 12 in. pieces of card stock decorative paper that coordinate, preferably, two sided. This is for the box. And matching card stock at least 7 inches square for top of box. Glue stick, scissors, if possible craft paper cutter, embellishments for inside flaps, as shown above, treats and ribbon. If you want to mod podge pictures on a block, mine was a two inch square. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
INSTRUCTIONS:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cut one of your 12 by 12 in. card stock at 9 by 9 in. (this will be your bottom and largest piece) Score at 3 in. all round the 4 sides. Now cut out the right and left outer squares on top and bottom. Look at pictue below.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/editor/static_files/" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZJ8i2iKr7DTDu1YnaZIoYB9VahPQiAEECyC0q8IBzPYELS1M58_wJzYErRIvVdoFtgPD09xAw19wLlCfGuNrRmkEVz2Rsfs6uXwdavmxaLZlw2lsZxUmGbsSxEGWIUvxB1RU8NiFPwMDL/s1600/card+box+instructions+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZJ8i2iKr7DTDu1YnaZIoYB9VahPQiAEECyC0q8IBzPYELS1M58_wJzYErRIvVdoFtgPD09xAw19wLlCfGuNrRmkEVz2Rsfs6uXwdavmxaLZlw2lsZxUmGbsSxEGWIUvxB1RU8NiFPwMDL/s1600/card+box+instructions+001.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Take the second 12 by 12 in piece (this is the middle of the box) and cut to </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
8 1/2 by 8 1/2, score at 2 7/8 all around the four sides. Cut the right and left squares out from the top and bottom of paper like above.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The third 12 by 12 in. piece which will be the top layer. Cut a 8 1/4 by 81/4 square. Score at 2 7/8 all around the 4 sides. Again cut the right and left squares out from the top and bottom of paper like above. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<em>Now you can decorate your flaps of paper with notes, embellishments and treats.</em></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<em>BELOW ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE TOP OF THE BOX (THIS HOLDS IT ALL TOGETHER)</em></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cut a coordinating piece of card stock at 6 1/4 by 6 1/4 and score 1 1/2 inches all around your square piece.(<em>if you are making a full box that needs to spread out a bit then cut your lid to 61/2 by 61/2, score the same.)</em></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cut in to the score line, two cuts on both sides. LOOK AT PICTURE. Glue these flaps inside to form a box top. Put your ribbons just on box top and decorate if you'd like. Now you can put the top to your gift explosion box and your done! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/editor/static_files/" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="" /></a></div>
<br />

These stick puzzles are so easy and very inexpensive. You can find these craft sticks at any craft store. (don't forget your coupon for discount) Find a card with a picture no wider then 5 in. and as tall as you want. Cut the front part of the card out evenly then mod podge just enough of the back top part of the card to fit on one stick. Glue it to to what will be your top stick and top part of your puzzle. Cut it and line up another stick and repeat until your have as much of the picture as you want, let dry.<br />Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01913765364507851133noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6625069860279456077.post-73105791763721665852013-10-01T12:30:00.002-07:002013-10-01T12:30:38.843-07:00RUBBERBAND BRACELETS<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I saw these at a craft store and then came home with instructions and went crazy with them. They are so fun and easy and quite inexpensive. A friend of mine mentioned that she has noticed that when the economy is bad that so many great creative crafts come forward. I love it. Thanks who ever came up with this.Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01913765364507851133noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6625069860279456077.post-6037324074156386962013-09-24T11:13:00.000-07:002013-09-24T11:13:13.640-07:00Match Game<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This match game is made with 3/4 in square glass tiles from craft store. You can find stickers about that size or maybe a print on craft paper. If using stickers you'll need to stick them on another paper then cut out your squares. Mod Podge (it's a glue you can get most craft stores and walmart) the front of the sticker, place that on the bottom of the tile, let dry. It will look cloudy but that goes away as it drys. These are glass tiles but one dropping on the floor doesn't break, I've tried it. Still try not to drop the box.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">If you don't have access to the tiles, use your imagination. I wonder about the backs of poker chips or just chip board. you couldn't see through them but they'd still be cute & work as a game.</span></div>

This was so fun! Take a pop top can (like cannned peaches) open the bottom with can opener and save it. Fill your can with goodies or gift card etc. hot glue the bottom on and decorate! Pull the pop top and find your gift!<br />Bettyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01913765364507851133noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6625069860279456077.post-86001586740199409552013-09-17T09:15:00.000-07:002013-10-12T14:35:26.126-07:00Christmas gift containers made out of card stock<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

At our local Porter's craft store if you buy their paper the use of the die cut machine is free. This is call slice of cake die cut. You can just make one and put a gift card or treats in it or you can make a one or two layer cake with it. I am going to put a few gifts and treats in it for my daughters birthday and then put gift tags in each one so she can use the box's as gifts to others. She's a busy gal and would love these.</div>
